The Project
This plant supplies the City of Baltimore and vicinities with potable water.

PK Role
Poole and Kent is serving in dual roles as the General Contractor and Mechanical Contractor. Our scope will include the installation/upgrade of the following:

  • Rehabilitation of existing plant filters
  • Replacement of filter control tables and instrumentation, wash water piping & valves
  • Replacement/rehabilitation of chemical feed systems
  • Rehabilitation of the front and rear lobbies, second floor office space, and laboratory
  • Demolition of Residence and Construction of new Grounds Maintenance Building
  • Upgrade of electrical service
  • Paving, storm drain, and site utilities

Highlights/Challenges
Due to the vital role of Ashburton Filtration Plant, it is necessary for the plant to continue operations during construction. Poole and Kent will work closely with City officials to coordinate construction around continuous plant operations and processes.

The complete rehabilitation of the plant is anticipated for the Summer of 2007. We look forward to the timely delivery of this project, and we are confident the quality of our workmanship will be evident in the increased efficiency of the Ashburton Filtration Plant.
